msgenevieve666: I miss My burlesque days

I really want to find a troup to work with since I moved to L.A.
I was with Lil Beaux Peepshow and Storyville Starlettes in New Orleans, but moved to Hollywood in November.
Here are some pin-ups from the Dungeon I work out of. Any leads?

msgenevieve666: My Farewell Burlesque Performance/Benefit this Sat @ Hard Rock Cafe

This is My final show with the Storyville Starlettes, and My second to last New Orleans performance (My last is a couple of fetish performances at Elise's Playground on Halloween night at Twiropa).
Just a couple of weeks before I move to Los Angeles.

Come one come all and join the Storyville Starlette's upstairs at Hard Rock Cafe on South Peters in the French Quarter. The show starts at 9 p.m. Saturday October 23rd, 2004 and tickets are $10. For advanced tickets ask your favorite Storyville Starlette or contact the Hard Rock Cafe.

You will see new performers, and new routines from some of the veteran Starlettes.

This performance will also include a raffle to raise money to assist one of the Hard Rock Cafe's employee's who is suffering a terminal disease and needs assistance with his medical bills. Friends of the Storyville Starlettes who own local businesses such as Erzulies Voodoo and Magick Practitioner's Shop and Heavenly Trip to Hell have donated many wonderful prizes to this cause (and we will gladly accept a few last minute donations.

Come one come all and join us at Hard Rock Cafe for a good cause and a good time, and to see My Fairwell Performance with the Storyville Starlettes Burlesque Review.

annette66: Devil Doll!

10 p.m. Wednesday, July 28

One Eyed Jacks, 615 Toulouse St., 569-8361

Equal parts punk rocker and '40s-era jazz diva, Colleen Duffy (aka Devil Doll) has seen her work attached to everything from Infiniti and Adidas commercials to Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Devil Doll slips into a satin dress and channels her inner Joan Jett and somehow makes it all plausible as she proved in her debut CD, Queen of Pain, forming a solid base among the L.A. hipster crowd before going nationwide. 'My whole, um, momentum behind Devil Doll is to put the sex back into rock 'n' roll,' the Cleveland native told the Arizona Daily Star, and we believe her. Her leather-and-lace approach seems like a perfect match for One Eyed Jacks, which in its previous incarnation as the Shim Sham Club featured more than its share of period genre blending by way of pierce/tattoo cool. Preceding the show will be burlesque from New Orleans' own Le Petite Fleur, Natasha Fiore and Spooky LaStrange. Tickets $8. -- Simmons

check it out! Hot burlesque AND a sexy-ass band. Yep.

vulgaras: ! I Quit !

9 years ago I auditioned
for the Blue Angel Cabaret.
It was the most exciteing thing I had ever became apart of.
Celebrities squeezed into this tiny brick basement
every week to witness the fresh, unusual, sexy and often
outrageous strip-performance-side-show put together by
Ute Hanna. Ute pushed me into the show making me create
my very 1st performance art for her weekend cabaret nights.
Eventually over the years it lead to the courage that
allowed me to sing in public on my own for the 1st time.
The courage I found to discover my own voice came from
the platform known as The Blue Angel, that ALWAYS w/ pride
and w/o shame let the performers express/find themselves
Recently I have been put under the evil microscope of
censorship...by the very show (now known as Le "Scandal")
that once gave me freedom. Outsiders have decided to dictate
what the show is now going to be. These outsiders have decided
for Le Scandal (even though it isn't "their" show) that I am
inappropiate entertainment for the tourists they cater to.
I tried to rise above it and recreate some of my pieces only
to be further censored. I QUIT !
Never again will I be associated with this hypocrite of a show.
Ammo and I as former members of the Blue Angel have decided to
manifest a platform of our own, showcasing the best in outrageous
burlesque-side-show-cabaret. We are in the process of seeking out a venue
in Williamsburg and plan to call it GODDESS.
"Bad ass burlesque for the truly wicked."
More info to come as our project developes. I look forward
to seeing our baby grow, and to give a good show and great
experience for performers and audience alike. With real pay
(no collecting tips needed).
I hope that this censorship of Le Scandal will not be a trend
with other shows. The minute that happens the heart and fire
of true Cabaret is dead.

Thursday is the weekly show of Storyville Starlettes at 711 Bourbon Street 9p.m.

Who knows what this week will hold.
Last week we debuted Trixie la Boom.
The previous week we had a wonderful guest performance by Bunny Bernstien. Our troup is constantly adding new numbers and re-inventing old numbers to make them better than ever before.

We even added a comedic waitress, Frenchy.

It's only a $10 cover so I hope to see you there.

msgenevieve666: Back from Las Vegas, and about to take the world

I was on Jay Leno on Friday night...I was caught by "Man on the
Street" and I personally didn't get to see it yet since when it was
airing I was in Las Vegas at Dressed to Thrill 7.

At Dressed to Thrill I saw Dita von Teese yet again...it was
beautiful, but I was blown away by the wicked, lewd and lascivious
delicious dare-devil burlesque bombshells, Satanika and Slymenstra
Hymen of the Girlie Freak Show. Unfortunately they were locked out
of my hotel suite after the show, and by the time we got to my
amazing vanilla vodka and apple pucker martinis they had fallen
asleep exhauster from performing and travel. Oh, Well, there is
always New Orleans and you girls can always stay at my place, and run
about the New Orleans night with me anytime you are in town...as well
as be a special guest at our weekly burlesque show, or if you want
help booking your own show here, just let me know.

I also had fun being pulled up on stage durring the Uncle Notty
show. My first trip to Las Vegas, and what a weekend.

Keep an eye out for me...
Thursdays, I do a burlesque show with Storyville Starlettes at 711
Bourbonstreet, 9 p.m.

And I am currently working out arrangements with Play Boy Channel who
is coming to New Orleans to interview me.

Amidst my busy schedule I will bre traveling to Pensacola on Jun 26th
and staying a day or two. I will perform with many of my fetish
friends/fiends and Immaculate Deception at the Handle bar on June
26th, and private invites will be given to a select few for our after
show pool party at the home of Missy Graham (artist and organizer of
21st Century Pin-ups fetish/art experience).

I also plan to be in Atlanta in October for DomCon 2, as a Special
Honored Guests. I will more than likely perform the Dare Ware Fetish
event for my 3rd year in Houston. I am anticipating my performance
and attendance to the Endless Night Vampire convention over Halloween
weekend. And if my schedule doesn't conflict on that busy halloween
weekend I hope to be able to perform at MOM's Halloween Ball.

Keep an eye on Off Beat because I periodically pop up at Paradise
Vendor's shows...ever since they immortalized me in song before we
ever met, and it has been being a favorite on WTUL.

Keep posted also for my future trips to Chicago, NY, LA, and
Washington DC., Baltimore, Virginia, and Albequerque, NM.

"When you are good to momma...Momma's good to you.".
